Indian Actress, Bipasha Basu was born on May 5, 1979 in Delhi. Her pet name is Bonny. She is Bengali; meaning of her name is dark, deep desire. She and her family have come to Kolkata. She spent her childhood in Kolkata. She wanted to become a doctor, but ended up studying accountancy after class twelfth. She did graduation in Business, in Kolkata. Now she is living in Mumbai. She has never thought that she will be an actress or join the entertainment industry.

 The famous model Mehr Jessia has changed Bipasha Basu’s life forever. She suggested her to take part in Godrej Super Model Contest. She has participated in the contest and won it. At the age of Seventeen, she participated in the Ford Supermodels and won this contest. In the same contest, she has been crowned by the Tulips Miss Super Vivacious. She has done many modeling assignments. She went to Paris and America to prove her talent on the international level. She has done work with Steven Michel (the great photographer).

In 2001; Bipasha Basu turned herself from modeling to films. Her first movie-Ajnabee, did well at the box office. Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor and Bobby Deol were her co-stars in this movie. She has performed very well in this movie. She got name and fame overnight. After this, she rapidly signed for many films. In 2002, she played very attractive role in Raaz a movie directed by Vikram Bhatt. She has also done well in Telegu movie- Takkari Donga. Her performance was excellent in the Amit Saxena’s film-Jism. She acted as a married woman and got success from this film. She has appeared in Music albums of Sonu Nigam’s Tu…( Kismat).

Earlier, Dino More has been a good friend, but she has broken up with Dino. Presently, John Abraham ( Indian Actor) is her boyfriend.

Bipasha Basu has done various movies like Aankhen, Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai, Chor Machaye Shor, Zameen, Ishq Hai Tumse, Rudraksh, Rakht: What If You Can See the Future, Madhoshi, No Entry, Phir Hera Pheri and Apaharan. Her latest released movie Hum Ko Deewana Kar Gaya is good, Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif are her Co-star in this movie. Her upcoming movies are Dhoom-2, Corporate, Nehle Pe Dehla, Darna Zaroori Hai, Omkara and Fool and Final.

In 2001, Bipasha Basu won Filmfare Award for Best Debut in Ajnabee. She was also nominated for Best actress award in  Raaz and Best Villain award in Jism.

Bipasha Basu also appeared on the cover of magazines, such as Vogue Magazine. Her hobbies are reading the books, dancing, singing, listening to music and helping her mother with interior designing. She is very inspired by actors like Harrison Ford, Aamir Khan, Amitabh Bachchanm Clint Eastwood, Kajol, Tabu, Manisha and Julia Roberts. Her favorite movies are My Friends Wedding and Godfather.
